Client:
New customer in the Wetherby area, work undertaken in 2023-2024.
Extensive renovation work and specialist retrofit solutions
The clients contacted Retrofit Projects in early 2023 and requested a whole house retrofit survey, including thermal imaging. They were concerned about rising energy bills and also wanted to make significant improvements to the exterior of their home, including re-roofing the property and re rendering including EWI (external wall insulation).
A detailed survey was carried out of the property and the retrofit assessment covered all aspects of the property. The 100-year-old house was solid brick construction without insulation and there was significant external work required.
The client’s priority was to deal with internal damp issues before any external insulation work was undertaken.
The property needed significant upgrading and modernisation to make it warmer and more comfortable for the future.
The survey and report provided by Retrofit Projects allowed the client to fully appreciate the extent of the work required and the expected costs and duration of the project.
Stage 1
Retrofit Projects provided a full retrofit survey, including a thermal imaging report, and a re-roofing specification.
Stage 2
Working with the clients and their chosen architect and building / roofing contractor, we provided a step-by-step specification to ensure that the roof structure was correctly ventilated.
Stage 3
Retrofit Projects and our in-house team of contractors provided a full damp proofing solution and specialist advice on renovating plaster systems.
Other remedial work was carried out while scaffolding was provided to ensure the roof was sound and any repairs were easily dealt with.
Stage 4
The property was insulated externally using an approved and guaranteed EWI system, including specialist rendering with real brick slips, maintaining the character of the home.
The work was completed in 2024.
All work undertaken is covered by a full guarantee on both labour and materials.
