Client:
Customer in Garforth, Leeds. Work undertaken in 2025.
Extensive renovation work and specialist retrofit solutions
The clients contacted Retrofit Projects in early 2025 and requested a whole house retrofit survey including thermal imaging. They were concerned about rising energy bills and the house losing heat fast.
The client wanted to loft insulation and boarding.
A detailed survey was carried out of the property and the retrofit assessment covered all aspects of the property. The house has cavity wall construction and was not insulated,
The survey and report provided by Retrofit Projects allowed the client to fully appreciate the extent of the work required and the expected costs and duration of the project.
Stage 1
Retrofit Projects provided a full retrofit survey including a thermal imaging report and detailed insulation specification.
Following the survey
Works organised by our project management team and approved contractors.
Stage 2
The existing loft area was cleaned and all rubbish and debris removed.
Stage 3
A new robust quality timber loft ladder was fitted.
Stage 4
The existing loft boarding was removed, and new loft insulation was laid to a depth of 270-300mm.
Stage 5
A new boarded storage area was created by increasing the height of the ceiling joists to allow for thicker insulation.
Stage 6
Additional shelving was provided for more storage, and the timber truss structure strengthened.
Stage 7
The cavity walls will be insulated using the EPS bonded bead system, under the GBIS grant funded scheme.
The work organised by Retrofit projects will improve the EPC rating.
The work was completed in February 2025.
Further work is planned for spring 2025.
All work undertaken is covered by a full guarantee on both labour and materials.
