Case studies: Building project in Leeds

A detached property with new roof, dormers, extension and kitchen.

The Home Improvement Advisory Service were involved in this home extension project from conception through to final decoration. We selected the building contractors and introduced the architect to the home owner.

The home featured here had a number of enhancements including a new roof, roof dormers, a ground floor extension and a refurbished handmade oak kitchen. The work was sympathetic to the original construction and although no formal valuation was undertaken we feel the value of the home was substantially increased.

Thias Property Services add value by acting as a single point of contact for the customer. We liaise between you and all professions and trades-people required to make your home extension happen. We spend time at the beginning of the project making sure that the requirements are clearly defined. In our experience this has two benefits:

  • The building contractor and individual tradesmen are clear about what they are required to do.
  • The customer is required to clearly articulate what they want.
  • By spending time ensuring all parties are clear about the project requirements, the possibility of re-work is reduced, which in turn helps control costs.
